From OK we headed over to New Mexico, spent the night there and then woke up and drove to Las Vegas. We stayed with the McNulty's (Tricia and I went to college together and just found each other on facebook). It had been 11 yrs. since we had talked to each other. Tricia invited us to stay with her as we drove out to CA, so we did. It was a great 2 days...she showed us around the casino's (her husband is the exec. chef at one of them), got fed some excellent food, Madison and Isabelle (their daughter) became great friends, and she helped me with some PR stuff for Heather Hill. She even made me a fan club page on facebook, if you want to join here is the link...we are going to start doing give aways and specials soon - http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Heather-Hill-Clothing/97342723780?ref=ts We had a great time! Thanks McNulty's!
We made good time driving to Las Vegas to see the McNulty's but hit traffic inside the Hoover Dam. They are building a new bridge so that people don't have to drive the curved roads inside it... Jason had never been there so he had me take some pics.
For our first stop out West we stopped in OK to see the Taylors. Jason did his first research session at Jon's church and we got to see the new baby. Madison loved playing with Isabelle. She pretended that she was her baby.
Calotype Photography contacted me and asked if I would put up some of her work in my showroom - so I said of course! The photo's turned out fabulous and the canvases are awesome.
This morning we picked Madison up from camp. She had alot of fun and talked all the way home about it. We let her take our really old camera up, you can see her pics. and read about her time on the post below. This is her friend Mary Hadley (that's her first name as we were corrected). Madison spent most of her time with her.
This is Madison. I just came back from camp. I went to the lake, at the lake I road the shark it was scary the first time but the second time it was not. I made pottery, ceramics, and candles. I went on the ropes course and I went down the zip line. It was fun. I made a friend her name was Mary Hadley, we spent every mish mash together. We made shrinky dinks and went to the store together and went down the waterslide (it was my first time). That's it.
Today Madison went up to Camp War Eagle. This is her second year going and was thrilled to go again. This year she said the new things she was going to try is skateboarding, archery and rock climbing. She stays in the "Osage" tribe for the rest of her life, so once Elise goes then she will be Osage too (they said everyone in the family will be Osage, even her children ;)).
Madison had to do a swimming test to check if she needed a life jacket for the week (she passed ;))
Another new thing I experience now in Arkansas... thunderstorms. I now understand all those country songs singing about thunder rolling. I am getting used to them after 2 yrs. but every so often one will shake our house and physically bounce me in my chair that I scream (it startles me so).
Jason turned 35 today - he opened his presents before church then we headed out to Tulsa for the rest of the day. We went out and about town, ended up at a huge park/garden - he and I walked around the roses and the kids went to play. After we drove home and went out for steak.
Strike a pose - we were goofing off in the garden... You'll have to enlarge the pic. to see the name of the roses.
