Dinosaur Camp in Utah

We drove out to the middle of nowhere to camp at the place where tons of dinosaur bones were discovered. The actually quarry building was closed b/c the foundation has moved so much. The kids got to do some activities and then were sworn in as little paleontologists. We spent the night there at a campground (which was desolate and a huge storm rolled in right at dinner). So no campfire to cook dinner... no problem, we hooked our electic cord into the restroom and used the campers microwave :). We also spent most of the night playing Uno and watching movies.

Salt Lake City

While in Utah we stopped at the Salt Lake. We just wanted to float in it and see what it was like. We went to the island there and headed down to the beach. On the shore there were countless numbers of gnats. There were so many that when you walked by they made brown waves. Once we got past the gnats we walked really far out (this lake is shallow too). The girls did not like this there were certain areas that were burning in the water. But we all got to sit in the water and just float. J and I stayed out for awhile (to soak in all the minerals) and then after we were covered in white. They do have showers there so we all rinsed off.
We also headed over to the nature center and noticed millions of spiders everywhere. There was a baby bird caught in the webs so we got it out and let it free (we are talking huge spiders everywhere!).

Lake Tahoe

We spent some part of our trip in Lake Tahoe. It was crazy how shallow it was so far out (the girls just kept walking and walking).

My friend - and 1st college roommate

On our traveling adventures we got to meet up with Janelle and her family in Oakdale. Janelle was my Freshman college roommate at Master's and we had not seen each other in over 12 years! She remembered how much I despised camping and dirt and put us up at their house... and let us take showers :) Thanks you guys for everything, it was fun to catch up!
(I had more pics. but realized my card was not in the camera and I don't have the cord here).

Yosemite

We traveled into Yosemite and they had an open camp spot for us. We spent the day exploring and playing in the river. Sunday morning we went to church up there b/c Gpa Russ said that the pastor's wife went to high school with him. We actually met her in the parking lot and got to talk with her for awhile.

Golden Gate & Fort Point

After the Exploratorium we swung by the Golden Gate Bridge and walked around Fort Point. It was so cold and windy but the girls loved exploring.

Stopped to get some chocolate...

Had dinner at Boudin's - J his clam chowder and us the chili.
