Friday night we had graduation, stayed in a hotel down by Talbot (and there was a Joann's there)! Visited Joann's Sat. morning and then headed down to Glen Ivy for the rest of Sat. Love that place!!!
Friday night we had to go to Talbot's graduation (it's mandatory to go now). We were planning on going to Catalina Fri-Sat. but changed the plans when we found out (& went Wed.-Thurs.). It was a graduation :) Snacks after graduation.
Since we took a later boat on Wed. we decided to be 20 min. late to the hooding ceremony and take a later boat on Thurs. (otherwise we would have had to leave Catalina at 11:30 that morning). So the hooding ceremony was a dinner at Knott's Berry Farm hotel, then a program where the prof. puts your hood on your gown.
Wed. morning we flew to CA - our flight was late and then the rental cars battery was dead, so we missed the 2:00 boat to Catalina. So we eventually made it onto the 5:45 boat. Jason talked me into staying at the nicest "inn" on Catalina - it was the old Wrigley (the gum guy) Mansion. It was absolutely wonderful! When you stay there they let you take over the house, serve you all your meals, and give you a golf cart to ride around the island in. The Inn at Mt. Ada - the white house on the top.
Mon. night Elise's Kindergarten put on a fundraiser - it was a circus held at the high school. Elise's class was the monkeys... I have to say she really got into the part (she is naturally a monkeygirl!), she is right in the middle front of the LaRue sign. So in the pic. it's hard to tell but yes her hair is very short, that deserves it's own post... but now I'm off to pack for CA!
Tonight was Shawn & Kalynn's wedding. Kalynn was in J's discipleship group from JBU so when she got engaged she asked J to officiate the wedding. For the past 4 months we were meeting every other Tues. for their premarital counseling and finally this Tues. night they got married.
