We made it to the beach!

Since we were stuck in CA for another day & our truck made it out of the shop by noon, we decided to spend our last day at Huntington Beach. We looked in two different surf shops for a replacement fin for my surfboard and noone had one so we didn't do any surfing. It was a great day anyway, warm and breezy.

How we ended up at Scandia....

Well the plan was to spend Thurs. at the beach but Greg discovered that our trucks engine was not working correctly, so we had to drive back to Upland (from La Mirada).
While driving that half hour we didn't know that the Ez-up in our shower had turned the handles on and was soaking everything we had stored in there (all our clothes, J's books & computer). The whole time we were driving water was just pouring out the seams of the door...so while the auto mechanic was looking at the engine we were wringing everything out.
We were also informed that there was a blizzard on it's way right where we were supposed to drive so we had to postpone our going home trip by a day (which worked out b/c the truck was still in the shop).
ANYWAY, we decided to spend the day at Scandia which was close by. It ended up working out great, the rides were perfect for the kids (no lines), we all got to play some mini golf and relax after a stressful morning! Thanks Nana & Grandpa for taking us there.

All of our hole in ones :)

The After Party...

After the defense we all headed to the hotel and hung out for the rest of the day.

Jason's Doctoral Defense

The day started at 5:45am, we headed out to Talbot and sat in traffic but made it there by 8! J presented his study and the whole defense only lasted about an hour. His chairs came in and said that Jason was now a doctor...he is finally finished with his PhD!

Planting a garden at Papa's

Papa decided to plant some vegetables and berries in his backyard. He had Madison and help out this week.

Elise said she doesn't want to be farmer, it's too hot and tiring!
