A Story of Lent

On Wed. Madison and Elise went to church and when we picked them up they were telling us that they were going to give something up for Lent. We said great what do you want to give up? Madison thought for awhile and narrowed it down to chocolate, and of course Elise followed what Madison said.

The next day I picked the girls up from school and the whole car ride home Madison was bossing around Elise, who was getting very bothered. So she says to me... Mom, I want to change what I'm giving up for Lent, I'm making it not listening to my sister anymore. I laughed so hard, and Madison just rolled her eyes!

...and finally the winning pic. made it in the paper!

Someone told Madison that she is becoming the Siloam celebrity, being in the paper so much and having her photos so big. She just smiled! So yes, her final drawing made it into the paper, we told her we better keep that drawing it's already worth $75.

Doesn't he look smarter :)

Finally after months of mulling, Jason picked out his doctoral gown. It was very important b/c this is what he will be wearing twice a year for the rest of his prof. days. So he chose to go with the royal blue velvet b/c that says you have a PhD. and then a 6 pointed tam hat. His hood that shows his area of study & school is custom made so we are still waiting on that, but here he is...soon boy, very soon!

Elise said to me... Daddy is going to be a doctor of the church, so he can't give us shots, right?

New things are coming...

I am trying to change out the pics. in the showroom to keep them current with the dresses in there. In March I'm bringing in more Spring items... Elise modeled a new outfit for me (I love this print!).
Also, I just got back the proof of my article from Peekaboo magazine, it will hit shelves March 1st. I had written it last month and the editor loved my story so she gave me double the space and made it a feature article. I am very excited, it's called Behind the Design: Hollywood, Hoopskirts and Heather Hill.

Here's the littlest monkeygirl....

Valentine's Day has come and gone...

Since J was going to be gone all day today we celebrated V-day a bit different. On Wed. my cooking club helped me with making one of his favorite foods - pupusas with cabbage (noone wanted a repeat of last year, where a fire broke out). Things went much smoother this time and we enjoyed a quiet evening at home Wed. night (the kids were at church).
This morning the girls were up before 6, so J took them out for donuts (a tradition now). Then later on in the morning they passed out Val. and we gave daddy a red sweatshirt/jacket that he loved (and wore out the door).

This card Elise made - she wrote your hand some... J thought that was hilarious.

I just got the magazine...

and saw my ad in there! A friend from church said she saw the ad this week and I told her I had not seen it yet. She happened to have one in her car so she gave it to me. It was really exciting to see it in there & in the back it's in the directory list under clothing.

Father / Daughter Dance

Our town had it's yearly Father/Daughter Dance, the girls have been talking about this for months now! The dresses I had made them last year still fit so they wanted to wear them again. Jason said this year they knew more friends there so they were dancing with them, which he was happy about b/c last yr. he came home exhausted!!!

11 years and counting...

How many times have J & I said that we were going to go away for our anniversary and never have... Well, this time J suprised me and made plans!
He took me for the weekend to Tulsa, we stayed at the Marriott & did their couples package (which included a day spa there) and got all the treatments imaginable! We went all over town & even stumbled upon a Joanns...haven't been there forever. Then we took the nostalgic route and had dinner at Marie Callender's (where we went on our first date). It was a totally relaxing fabulous weekend!

Beka - the babysitter & Madison with a frozen baby mole (a casuality of the ice storm)

I'm there waving, I'm so stoked...stocked up on some adorable summer prints.
