Jason & the kids in the paper...

Jason was the speaker at Breakaway last weekend, they did a write up in the paper about it. The bottom picture is the top of the kids heads (where Elise wrote her name in paint).

Nana came to visit

Nana came in Sun. evening and stayed with us Mon. She went to go see Jason teach his class in the morning and then we went to pick up the kids early from school. We went to the Wild Life Safari - where you drive through and the animals walk freely up to your car. Nana noticed a long horned cow with it's placenta hanging out and the baby trying to walk (it had just given birth minutes ago). We also got to hold baby monkeys (one was attached to Jason and wouldn't go to anyone but him... he must of thought J was his dad, his hair threw him off).

The girls telling stories on the story bead chain.

Aunt Jan bought them Mud Puddle Pie with Gummi Frogs so they made that Mon. night.

Breakaway Camp

This weekend we all headed up to Camp War Eagle for John Brown's "Breakaway" camp. Jason was speaking for the retreat and the subject was Rest... funny how our family doesn't feel all that rested :). During free time the kids spent most of the time at the pond, jumping off the trapeze, doing the blob, and twisting on the slide. We got home around 11:30 last night and went right to bed, to get up to teach Sunday school this morning, we will all be taking naps this afternoon.

Breakout sessions...

All the kids met for a gathering time...

Walking the tightrope... noone in the family got across.

Madison off the trapeze.

Elise off the trapeze - she was too short to grab it, so one kid had to hold the trapeze and another one picked her up so she could stretch out to reach it. She would never let go on the first swing, she put on a show going back and forth a few times then let go (while everyone gasped!).

Elise on the blob... they had to find a smaller student to jump her off b/c she would have gone flying.

and then there is the long wood floor hallway perfect to slide down...

J's story in 'In Search of a Confident Faith'

We just recieved this book from Klaus (J's doctoral prof.) today. He had asked if he could use a story J had told him in class a few years ago for his book... here is the excerpt.

They're Back from camp

Jason and Madison just returned with lots of stories of camp. Madison showed us all her crafts she made and brought us home chocolate cupcakes. I asked her where daddy's crafts were, she said "he sat by me and talked to everyone around" :) Sounds like daddy! Anyway, he said his talks went well and that they all had fun.

Madison had to keep reminding him to take pics. for mommy... good job Madison!

Madison's rifle sheet (it was closer then her dad's)...
