The So. CA earthquake...

Yes, we were close to the epicenter, but we were in a pool so we didn't feel it... those little ones are kinda fun - and yes, they are way better then tornadoes!

Glen Ivy Day Spa

Jason took mom and me to the day spa (since Papa took the kids fishing all day). Jason has actually been to this spa more times then me (he loves it & says he is secure in his masculinity)!
Mom spent most of her time floating in the shallow pool...

This is the mud bath... you lather the clay on, dry in the sun, then rub it off & rinse in their showers. Jason skipped this time b/c he is far too hairy (& the last time it hurt him).

My mom and I were trying to hit our visors together, they kept slipping and our hands were a little dirty!

The girls got up at 5am and left to go fishing up at Green Valley Lake. The first stop of the morning is the donut shop, then the last stop of the day is the ice cream shop. Elise caught 2 fish, dad 1, and Madison 1.

The Mowry's Wedding

J did the ceremony, they wanted short and sweet so it was over in 30 min. The reception was in the ballroom at the resort. We headed down the mountain later that night.

Lake Arrowhead - Wedding Rehearsal Fri. Night

We came home from the beach, showered and then headed up the mountain to Lake Arrowhead Spa & Resort. Jason was officiating Chris (he was in our 1st youth group in Santa Clarita) & Alley's wedding there & the Mowry's graciously got us a room overnight. It was Really Really Nice!!! Sat. we ate breakfast on the lake and then went to the private beach & chilled till the wedding at 5:30.

Gotta love the robes :)

This is the view from where the wedding was... J was camera happy that day!

Our view from the chairs at the private beach...

You would never believe it - I'm Hooked!

Wed. Paulo came down and I told J I would try to surf. The last time I attempted was before we had kids & we never made it into the water! So Paulo gave up his board for the day I went surfing with J. I caught 3 waves and I was hooked, the next day we bought a surfboard for me & went out again. I must say that I am sore and bruised but I LOVED it!
Paulo took these pics. for us...

Beach days...

We spent the week down at Dana Point (Doheny camping)... I have been going down there every summer for over 25 yrs. now. It was a full campsite, we had Aunt Sue & Uncle Ted in their tent, I was w/ mom in her camper, the kids were in their tent, and Paulo and J were in our camper. The girls made friends with our neighbors and were riding bikes w/ them, hanging out at the beach and going to ranger programs.

Elise learning how to ride a bike...

Nice save J!!

Campfire...

We all made it to breakfast at Las Brisas. J's friend introduced us to this place about 5 yrs. ago, the restaurant overlooks the ocean and they have an excellent buffet in the morning.

Our weekend in Santa Clarita

We went up to Santa Clarita Fri. night (we went to college there & lived there when we first got married). We saw gma & gpa Thompson and then went over to spend the night at Aunt Cindy's house. She & the girls made a huge breakfast... then at noon we met up with Andy & Amanda (Andy was in our 1st youth group & he just got married). Then we went over to see Paulo and pick up J's sunglasses, & finally over to Stacy & Crystal's b-day party.

Thursday...

We have had a busy week, Thursday we went into LA to find some industrial machines, thread, and fabric. Jason said he really missed going down there (he enjoys bartering the price of fabric, who would have thought!). You gotta miss all the traffic and angry people honking down there.
After our LA trip we headed over to the Whaleys for dinner. Jeremy made Yakisoba which Jason ate 4 helping of (I think he finished it off), oh yes and the Choco Pie was excellent too :) ...the kids went swimming.
This is the LA garment district (for those in Arkansas ;)) It's blocks of stores w/lower then wholesale fabric.

This weekend...

We went to the Pasadena art show, it was slow & hot (our booth was facing the direct sun for hours). We did pretty well compared to the other exhibitors so I can't complain. However, with everyone we want to see down here we decided to pack up early and skip out on Sun... plus, my neck got sunburned (this is a first!).
Sunday morning we went to one of our older churches (1st Baptist Upland) and then over to Claudio and Gina's for lunch (they had a bunch of guys visiting from Scotland so it was a full house).

My parents and the kids came to the show to visit, the kids did some art work in a booth by mine. The Whaleys came down too and we had dinner with them.

Afterwards the kids went with gma & papa to an old fashioned ice cream parlor.
