Swim practice

I usually just drop Madison off at the pool and J stays at work then picks her up when she is finished. Today she wanted me to come in and watch her practice so I did with Elise (& brought my camera). I met her coach and the head coach there... then the head coach asked me to take over her position next yr. since I was the only parent who had competitive experience. I declined but she wants me to think about it some more :).

Here is the monkey girl swimming backstroke - the coach said she has never seen a kid her age swim it as well as she does (it really is her best stroke, funny b/c it was mine too ;)). Go Madison!!!

There are 3 other girls Madison's age who swim in the 1st lane, the other big kids take up the rest of the lanes doing their practice. The younger ones have their own coach there helping them out.

When I'm 18 it's going shorter...

Since preschool Madison has been asking me to get her hair cut, so finally last night we were in town & I gave in. She wants it even shorter but I told her that is not going to happen, so she is dead set that when she is 18 she will cut it up to her ears.

A food worth sharing....

I know my dear husband brought this home for me to be used on top of ice cream, but when there is no more ice cream what's a girl to do?
A spoon full of hot fudge, great texture, excellent choc. flavor, & by experience... a delightful little snack to satisfy your choc. craving!

Yeah Another Art Fair Acceptance!

We will be starting our summer trip in Rosenberg, TX... the Peddler Show Art show wrote and juried me in. It's held June 27-29, we'd better get our camper ready for this 3 day stay :).

This made me chuckle today...

A man named Boone cut my fabric at Walmart... Yep, Boone looks exactly like you are picturing him!

Annual Father/Daugher Dance

Their good friend- the other Madison...

Our town has a father/daughter dance every year for dads & daughters (under 12). Our good friends told us that J and the kids should go, that they go every yr. and their daughter LOVES it. So I made the girls some matching dresses (since I had the fabric) and they went to the dance this evening (& made them bring the camera). All day they had been practicing their dance moves (while J was at work)... boy was he suprised with all the twirling & sliding in between his legs! He said by far his girls were the most energetic!!! They came home all excited and had a wonderful time with daddy :).

Ok here they are...6 quirky things about me (HDL)

So Ms. Susan Lanker tagged me... & here they are:

1. I eat certain food for months, even years, every single day... until one day I can not eat them anymore (haven't figured out what sets it off). Then a search begins for a new food -

2. I leave 1/2 full water cups all over the house. When it's time to run the dishwasher we have a cup run, bringing in at least 10-15 cups from all the rooms.

3. Everytime I get in the shower, the first thing I do is fill my mouth up with water, swoosh and spit it out between my teeth.

4. I always take my make up off before I go to bed, no matter how late it is, I can not sleep with it on & never have.

5. I hate wearing clothing. As soon as I come home I go straight to my room and put on my bathrobe (I inherited that one from you mom).

6. I need to make something everyday.

Love Day...

V-day started early... J went out and bought the girls donuts (which they so desperately kept asking for all week). They opened their cards & J invited them to the Siloam Springs father & daughter dance (held on Sat). Then at 1 we all went to Madison's school to help out her class w/their party.

J is in charge of our anniv. & I'm in charge of V-day, so I had planned on making J his favorite food - which at the moment is chicken wings. I made homemade ranch dressing, 2 sauces for the wings, and then started to heat the oil I was to fry these wings in (please note I despise raw meat, touching it, smelling it, yes it completely makes me sick). SO I stick a therm. in the hot oil and it falls in, I get it out and it shatters. Next I put 2 frozen wings in & the oil comes splattering everywhere and smoke engulfs our house. It was so bad detectors were going off. I quickly turn off the oil and decide I should just bake them. I wipe up the mess (and Elise walks across the kitchen and still slips from the oil). J came home and saved the wings.... and just laughed! But he says he felt loved (b/c I was handling raw meat & cooking all in the same day) - There were other presents but we need to keep this blog rated G. :)

Going downhill fast!

We've gone country!!! In our search for the perfect vehicle to make our trips back to CA (& hit the art shows along the way) we decided on the Dodge Diesel Full Ton Duelly. Won't we be the talk of town when we roll into Upland, all we need is a pair of horns on the hood!
We actually bought this from a rodeo cowboy who bought it from the world champion saddle bronc rider (like this means something to us) - it was a great deal & about 1/2 price what it should have been b/c he had to get $$ fast. The camper needs a little work but it should work for a summer :) J is really excited, he says it reminds him of all the traveling he did as a kid.

Cute pics.

Siloam Springs hit 75 degrees for 1 day last week... and then it was snowing the next day - hence all the tornados (which were not near us). Anyway, I took full advantage of the weather and shot the whole line that day - we went to our neighbors house who has an older home with lots of character and a tire swing. Elise did very well and got paid for her hard work (& then she spent it on gum). Here are 2 pics. that I really love but probably won't go up on the site.

Elise's Hat Day

Her preschool had hat day today, she didn't have a hat so Madison let her borrow her Dodger one, Fri. it's pj day at school. On Sunday I cut her hair off again, she asked if we could tape it back on later, I laughed...

Some pics. of line

A girl came over from JBU today and helped me with these indoor shots... I am not used to taking pics. inside for the lines & do like the outside feel more but when you try to photograph a spring line and there is snow everywhere it just doesn't work! Here are some close ups that I liked of the kids, don't know if I will use all of them b/c they don't show much of the clothing (but they are cute)...
