Madison's hair cut

Madison has been wanting me to cut her hair for years now. I just could not bring myself to do it & J completly freaks out with the subject. Her hair is sooo straight it gets snarley looking all the time. SO this morning she begged me and I gave in... after we calmed daddy down. She wanted it long enough that it still could be braided, she is very excited and wanted all to see. She is on the phone here talking to gma about her hair!

let's go fly a kite...

Elise puts on the formal wear for such an occasion.

The Shirley's came over and brought some kites, Jamie (other mom) won the award for getting them up b/c noone else could.

Why I'm sticking with my opinion of the "Great Outdoors"

It's NOT GREAT! Standing outside for 2 min. something bit my foot and this is what happened.

Sorry to those who don't like feet...

Kanakuk - Kauai Camp

This Fri. we drove up to Kanakuk camp (the kids missed school). Jason had to teach a class from 2-4 up there, so we spent the night and left Sat. The counselors live on the camp campus and do a Master's program during the off seasons of camp (there are about 50 kids in the class). So after class we went out to dinner with a bunch of them and then to a high school football game. Kauai is Kanakuk's family camp, they have 12 camps total. It was really nice!

Deep water and Madison was freaked, there were shadows and she thought it was sharks.

After dad was done teaching - the girls played school.

Sat. morning breakfast. J & I and another couple were the only ones there & staying at the "hotel", so in the cafeteria the kids put on a show for us. The couple was Phil Joel & his wife Heather (from the Newsboys). They had 2 kids, their daughter was 2 days older then Madison and then a boy who was 4. The kids played all morning, and eventually ended up at the pool. They were there to lead worship for a church in the area. Phil left the group last yr. and has done some stuff on his own. He gave us 2 of his newer CD's, one is called Deliberate Kids - and it is great, the girls were clapping all the way home with it. And his album phil joel the deliberate people album.

AWANA parents night

Elise is a cubby this year, and Madison is in Sparks... tonight was parents night, we went back and forth to each group. We got to participate in game time too ;).

The girl with the glasses next to Madison is named Madison too, they are best friends. We hang out with her family alot. Jason is talking with her dad behind them. Madison announced on the way home that she was going to marry Braeden the younger brother.

Game time, pass the ball over your head and then under your legs and run the circle...

Madison running...

Go Jason!

Elise was on the playground when we came to see her.

For my momma - our dining room pics.

So... what I had told mom last night was that the maroon is a pearlized paint. The lady at Lowe's and I experimented to try and get it to match with the painting. It was supposed to be more of a plaster look but our walls are so textured as it is, it wouldn't scrap correctly... So I just painted it as a solid. But I'm pleased with how it turned out, the pearl adds a softness to the extreme color.

I found that painting at an antique store in the next town, $30 bucks... I had to get it!

There are golden color sheers in the window and then a crinkle gold fabric pulled to the sides. I really love it when the wind blows the sheers and they billow, it's really pretty.

We aren't missing a chair... I'm using it to paint the guest room now ;)
